Location: Doxey Depot, Stafford
Kier Strategic Highways are looking to recruit a Roadspace Coordinator to join the Area 9 contract with Highways England.
Job Purpose:
Assist in the technical co-ordination and management of all planned traffic events on the Area 9 Network in accordance with HA policies, procedures and performance indicators on Roadspace booking and control. Liaise with all associated authorities to ensure that all such events are undertaken in the safest possible manner and with the minimum disturbance to road users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recording of all Traffic Management events on the Highways England Network Occupancy Management System (NOMs) on a daily basis.
- Assist in taking Action on all daily Alerts which appears in the Highways England Network Occupancy Management System (NOMs)
- Recording all Special Orders for Abnormal Loads on the Highways England Network Occupancy Management System (NOMs) on a daily basis
- Recording all Events on the Highways England Network Occupancy Management System (NOMs) on a daily basis and manage the Events Spreadsheet Calendar
- Coordinate the availability of the network to avoid conflict (clashes) on the network, identify opportunities and liaise with TM programming team and SRW application originator
- Assist with the overall control of all traffic events including ensuring all traffic management arrangements are undertaken to the highest standards with the least disruption to the travelling public.
- Assist with the overall input of all closures on the Highways England Network Occupancy Management System (NOMs), including TTRO's, temporary signing, ETTRO's.
- Deputise for the Roadspace Manager as required in the overall management of Roadspace on the Area 9 Network.
- Ensuring the accuracy of the Roadspace form and compliance of the Roadspace procedures
- To manage the enforcement of all the activities of Statutory Undertakers in accordance with the requirements of the New Road and Street Works Act (NRSWA)
- Ensure that third party SRW applications are fully reviewed and site requirements are identified, presented and agreed by the appropriate Kier personnel before application is approved and processed
- Liaison with all associated authorities (e.g Highways England, Police, Local Highway Authority(s) to ensure effective planning and coordination of traffic events
- Support the depot Area 9 teams and departments (Area Engineers / ROM's/designers etc) with improving Roadspace, and prepare relevant Reports to demonstrate performance.
- Assist with filing, telephone calls & booking procedures within the team.
- Perform other duties as may from time to time be reasonably required.
- Actively promote Health and Safety in the workplace, setting a good example to other employees and ensuring awareness of and compliance with the general Health and Safety responsibilities as set out in the Health and Safety Procedure Manual.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Education to A-Level Standard or equivalent.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer literate with ability to operate computer-based information systems including Excel and Word.
- Ability to organise and prioritise workload with minimum supervision
- Ability to effectively perform within a team, sometimes within high pressure environments.
- Excellent time management.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Self-motivation.
