Our client is responsible for delivering the £960m Chilterns Tunnels and Colne Valley Viaduct contract as part of a section of the new High Speed Rail link between London and Birmingham.
They have an opportunity a Logistics Manager to join there team.
Responsibilities will include:
- Be the principal point of contact for Logistics - with the client and external parties
- Developed the Logistic Strategy with the teams
- Particular areas of work will include:
- Set up in place a booking management system
- Review the traffic number for the whole project on the base of the actual construction method
- Maintain the monthly prediction of vehicle number up to date with the development of the construction method and strategy
- Support the Environmental Team to make any amendment related to traffic topic to the ES
- Manage the Traffic manager to obtain the traffic consents in due time
- Manage the designer for everything related to site access from highway
- Wider responsibilities will include:
- Support team for any question related to Logistics, traffic and transport
- Collaborate closely with the H&S 2 logistics manager, and Construction Manager
- Collaborate with the other JV logistics manager
- Integrated the Logistics requirements and the Security requirement for example vehicle tracking, plant movement along the project, CCTV usage
- Managing compliance of delivery vehicles with and HS2/ FORS delivery requirements
- Planning and managing staff travel plans
- Planning a system for maintaining logs of plant and equipment on site and ensuring maintenance and inspection logs are up to date

- Work with the management team and understand the role of Logistics Manager in the overall project

- A thorough knowledge of Logistics management, Traffic Management and transport Management procedures and best practice techniques
- Demonstrate initiative, innovation and creativity
Experience:
- Knowledge of distribution centres for "just in time" delivery
- Knowledge of vehicle tracking and logging systems
- Knowledge of stock control systems
- Vocational qualifications
