Instrument Technician

Our major client is looking to a recruit a Instrument Technician on a permanent basis on days.
Key Functions:
*To install, maintain and repair instrument equipment, fixtures and appliances in buildings and on site.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Calibrations - Carrying out and maintaining all calibrations required on plant.
* Plant Commissioning - Commissioning and calibration of new plant equipment.
* Making improvements to machines, fitting new sensors
*To ascertain job requirements from drawings and/or other specifications.
*Install/fabricate pneumatic/electronic/instrument/field/panel equipment, hazardous area equipment, tray, unistrut, brackets, stands and small bore pipework.
*Gland/terminate instrument control cables.
*Maintain equipment following defined methods for flow/level/pressure temperature instrumentation and control valves.
*Maintain the calibration database including selecting and safely using test equipment for the calibration of flow/level/pressure/temperature instrumentation and control valves.
*Fault find/inspection/function test using the appropriate test equipment on flow/level/pressure test/ hazardous area equipment.
*To adhere to all safety requirements including safety checks of tools and equipment
*To use all relevant workshop/site equipment associated with job requirements including all relevant training/certification requirements
*Carry out SIL (Safety Integrity Level) testing on critical machinery throughout the plant.
Qualifications and Experience:
*Approved Apprenticeship to City & Guilds or NVQ3. Considerable site experience, with experience on a Petro Chemical Site or similar establishment. Will require to be specifically accredited to the latest IEE Standards.
*"CompEx" trained is an advantage.
*Valid Site Safety Passport (CCNSG or Equivalent)
