JOB DESCRIPTION
GOODS-IN CONTROLLER
Reporting directly to the Procurement Manager, you hold primary responsibility for effective material stock, quality control and kitting of all goods-in materials and moving these promptly into production to maximise production efficiency. As a secondary role your will assist the Procurement Manager in all aspects of the stores and logistics functions displaying flexibility of tasking to cover overload and personnel absence in any one area.
YOUR MAIN FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES ARE AS FOLLOWS:
* RESPONSIBILITY FOR MAINTAINING EFFECTIVE STOCK CONTROL AND QUALITY CONTROL OF ALL GOODS-IN MATERIALS
* UNLOADING, IDENTIFICATION OF MATERIAL RECEIVED AND LOCATING TO THE CORRECT FIRST WORK STATION PRODUCTION AREA IN STRICT ACCORDANCE WITH SAFE WORKING PRACTICE METHODS AND RISK ASSESSMENTS
* MAINTAINING EFFECTIVE LIAISON WITH PROCUREMENT AND QUALITY MANAGERS REGARDING ANY INEFFICIENCIES WITH GOODS-IN MATERIALS
* CONTROL OF DELIVERY DOCUMENTATION, ENSURING DOCUMENTATION IS PROMPTLY ADMINISTERED ON MRP WITHIN 24HRS
* BOOKING IN DELIVERIES OF SUB-CONTRACT RETURNS: VISUAL INSPECTION, QUANTITY CHECK AND IDENTIFICATION
* ISSUING AND UP-ALLOCATION OF JOB CARDS
* IDENTFYING TO PRODUCTION ALL JOBS READY FOR MANUFACTURE WHILST MAINTAINING EFFECTIVE LIAISON WITH PRODUCTION MANAGERS
* COORDINATION OF SAWING REQUIREMENTS WITH PRODUCTION MANAGERS
* KITTING OF PARTS READY FOR ASSEMBLY / PACKING
* OPERATING A FORKLIFT
* DAILY HOUSEKEEPING, GENERAL CLEANING AND TIDINESS OF STORES AREAS
* MINIMISATION OF DOWN TIME
* AWARENESS OF ALL SAFETY ISSUES, WEARING OF ADEQUATE PPE RELEVANT TO WORK AREA AND REPORTING ANY CONCERN TO THE MANAGEMENT STAFF
* AWARENESS OF ALL ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES AND REPORTING ANY CONCERN TO THE MANAGEMENT STAFF
* UNDERTAKING AD HOC TASKS AS DIRECTED BY MANAGEMENT
