Our client is setting up a new factory to produce modular homes from 1 to 12 storeys. The factory based in Basildon, Essex and will have the capacity to produce 400 homes a year.
Taking on the responsibility for managing the design and technical coordination of multiple projects utilising the modular system and processes, including effective communication of the design and management of the product and project workflow, advising regards continuous design, engineering and process improvement and resilience, increased productivity and establishing an open and collaborative design environment for all project stakeholders.

Role:
:: To develop design details for modular system that delivers the architectural ambitions of the business
:: Attend relevant design team meetings as required to facilitate the development of the design, and liaise with relevant subcontractors
:: Liaise with the Commercial and Construction departments
:: Supervise the work of the allocated CAD Technicians, and other design resource, to ensure information is produced accurately and efficiently in line with the overall design programme
:: Coordinate the creation and issue of design information packages for release internally and externally as required
:: Liaise with suppliers, consultants, and academics
Requirements:
:: Degree or HND/HNC level and have professional accreditation with a relevant institution.
:: Building design using CLT, steel, concrete and brick.
:: Have a working knowledge of Building Regulations and other market sector specific regulatory and statutory requirements
:: Be aware of standard industry drawing practices, and be able to develop and present design information in a legible and comprehensive manner.
:: Be competent in the use of appropriate CAD software: Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit 2018, Navisworks and/or other 3D modelling software.
:: Have experience working within a design/architectural/engineering role in a construction business.
:: Be capable of supervising junior members of the design team, including the allocation and monitoring of project design workload and programme reporting.
