Payroll Officer (£15.00 per hour Paye) Based in Southgate, North London temp contract

You will be working for a Social Housing Organisation based in London, giving you an ideal opportunity to enhance your career and CV
Job Role
You will be assisting the payroll department to ensure it operates efficiently, legally and according to the organisations time frames.
You will assume responsibility for processing new starters, leavers, pensions, variable payments and changes to contractual terms and conditions on a monthly and ongoing basis.
You will process tax codes and student loans via oracle and issuing P60, you will also be responsible for calculating sick pay and deal with any other payroll issues that may arise.
You will be assisting in the printing and distribution of payslips.
You will be responsible for answering the telephone and email queries, relating to mileage, expenses and overtime in a prompt manner.
You will perform other duties as required by the line manager.
Person
You will have previous experience of working in a similar payroll environment
You will have confidence working with numbers and have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
You will have good spoken a written communication skills and be able to work well as part of a team.
You must have up to date knowledge of UK payroll statutory regulations including, PAYE, SSP, SMP, SAP and National Insurance.
You will have good working knowledge of gross to net pay calculations using PAYE tables and the exact percentage method for NI.
You must have excellent IT skills
You must have experience of giving guidance to other employees / managers on system use
