Position: Commercial Assistant


Location: St Austell


Kier Utilities are currently recruiting for a Commercial Assistant. The successful candidate will join our team in St Austell, Cornwall and report directly in to the Commercial Manager. You will provide support and assistance to the commercial team.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Tasks may include managing enquiries, completing and returning street works notices, subcontract payments, invoicing and reconciliation data.
  • Maintain effective work systems, ensuring all Client WI details are entered onto WOMS and updated within the time frame for completed works.
  • Deal with all routine queries both from the Client and Internal departments in a timely and professional manner with a high level of customer service.
  • Provide office administrative support with general filing, scanning and photocopying.

  • Obtaining and submitting reference for street work notices within the time frame allocated by the Council.
  • Invoicing completed works within the service level agreement set within the business.
  • Updating area registers with WI, date, invoiced value and subcontract costs.
  • Complete weekly productivity summary and monthly reconciliation data.
  • Provide support for agents and attend any meetings as required.


    • Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Basic understanding of commercial and financial rules and procedures.
  • Knowledge of COINs costing system beneficial.
  • Must be IT literate with thorough understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Efficient and professional approach with the ability to multi-task
  • Possess strong communication, organisational and time management skills
  • General willingness to be helpful, enthusiastic and flexible
  • Able to work as an individual and as part of a team
