HGV Class 1 Driver Location: Paignton
Kier Local Highways is looking to recruit a Driver to join the Torbay Council Waste and Recycling contract. The successful post-holder duties will include the driving of vehicles and/or working manually in support of the services, working towards providing a high quality, cost effective service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work may be involve working in any area of current operations which include Refuse, Recycling & Garden waste collections and any other duties that may be required
  • Establish working relationships with Managers, Supervisors and other staff
  • Carry out your responsibilities in an efficient and safe manner, ensuring that Health and Safety matters are at the forefront at all times
  • Ensure that when driving, all daily vehicle checks are carried out and that the vehicle is driven in a safe and courteous manner and that the vehicle remains within legal tolerances at all times
  • Ensure all operational work is carried out to specification and to the complete satisfaction of your Supervisor and client officers
  • Ensure that all allocated works are completed within the notified timescales and that your Supervisor is notified prior to leaving the workplace at the end of the shift
  • Behave at all times in a manner that is befitting of a Kier Services employee and that you do not act in a manner which may bring the Company, the Client or its agents into disrepute
  • Ensure that you follow the instructions of any authorised person at all times
  • Support other crews as directed by your Supervisor to ensure services are completed on time

Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Must be a holder of a valid Category C Licence
  • Must have an appreciation of the business to be undertaken
  • Holder of a CPC Card
  • Able to work comfortably as an individual and as part of a team
