Assistant Commercial Accountant Location: Hatton Regional Civil Engineering Kier - Regional Civil Engineering (RCE) is looking to recruit an Assistant Commercial Accountant who will report to the Commercial Accountant. The position has arisen as RCE is to be integrated into Kier Infrastructure. This is an exciting and challenging role offering the opportunity to work across 2 areas of the business and play a pivotal part in the integration.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibility of the overhead Cost and Value Reconciliations (CVRs) at month end
Ensuring month end journals are prepared in a timely manner
Working alongside the operational and commercial teams to provide support at month end
Provide support to the business with the ongoing integration into a new business area
Streamline the current business vehicle mileage process
Owning the online purchasing card system, ensuring charges are accurate and coded to the correct contracts
Support the Commercial Accountants with monthly reporting and quarterly forecasting
Maintain effective work systems, ensuring that all correspondence and documentation is dealt with in a professional manner to meet audit requirements
Assisting with client invoicing and maintaining the invoice register to ensure the cash forecast is accurate and robust
Business partnering to the Operational and Commercial teams
Assisting with Balance Sheet reconciliations post month end
Ad hoc duties when required
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Looking to study ACCA/CIMA, potentially AAT qualified though not essential
High level of numeracy - able to present financial information clearly and concisely
Good IT skills, particularly Excel (VLOOKUPS, PIVOT tables etc)
Positive and friendly with a team player approach
Methodical with an organised and disciplined approach to work
Able to work to tight deadlines and under pressure
Due to the integration of RCE into Kier Infrastructure the role of the ACA will be an evolving one so the role is ideal for an individual who is looking for a challenge and exposure to all aspects of the business.
