Provide turnkey solutions for the Aerospace and Land Based Gas Turbine industries; they achieve these solutions through innovative designs for individual or multiple machines up to automated machine tool cells that integrate with modern manufacturing production systems.
Have a strong customer base including Rolls Royce and Siemens. The Role
We are looking for a Software Engineer, keen to utilise their skills practically with an engineering company at the leading edge of technology, applying software solutions to enhance their machine tools and processes. You will be primarily responsible for translating business requirements and functional specifications into logical program designs (Java), code modules, stable application systems and software solutions; identifying methods to apply industry best practices in a machine tool environment. A key part of the role will be building relationships with existing team members and helping to drive software change leading by example.
Responsibilities will include: developing high level application software to support machine tools; integrating high level and low level (PLC) software solutions in a traditional engineering environment; perform code reviews and testing; perform product testing on your own and third party code; write and maintain development documentation such as specifications, test plans and design documentation.
The Candidate
As the successful Software Engineer you should ideally be educated to degree level or have received equivalent training in technology; as a pc based software engineer you will have primary knowledge of Java; you will have the desire to work in an advanced engineering environment and to lead a change in culture. It would be highly advantageous for the successful candidate to have an understanding of machine tools or engineering.
