Location - Cambridge Waterbeach Salary - Competitive basic, with extensive package To implement a coordinated social value strategy across Kier Construction Eastern that addresses the needs of both the local and wider business to ensure Kier meets or exceeds its client, internal and industry body social value KPIs. Responsible, with the Business Initiatives Manager and Director responsible for social value, for setting and implementing a coordinated social value strategy; developing and maintaining relationships with appropriate community, education and third sector bodies; working with site and office teams to raise the profile of social value and help organise and coordinate activities; managing collection, recording and reporting of all social value and related data and; liaison with colleagues locally (e.g. communications, proposals, business development) and wider within Kier to share information and best practice. Key tasks:
- Implement and manage the delivery of the Kier Construction Eastern social value strategy
- Contribute, with the Business Initiatives Manager and Board of Directors, to the setting of the Kier Construction Eastern Social Value strategy
- Work with sites from the start of a project (including second stage tender award) to identify and agree Social Value requirements / opportunities to be targeted
- Work with Schools, Colleges, Charities not-for-profit organisations and other relevant bodies to build relationships and identify Social Value opportunities in order to meet site, client or Framework KPIs or to support Kier initiatives such as 'Grow Your Own', 'Open Doors' and 'Shaping Your World'.
- Work with the HR business partner and other colleagues to maximise potential of employment and skills activities
- Be the point of liaison between site / office teams and external bodies to help organise and deliver Social Value activities that provide true benefit
- Work with site and office staff to identify and record - on Kier databases and against relevant Client of Framework KPIs - all social value activities
- Manage Kier Construction Eastern's participation in the Considerate Constructors Scheme, working with senior site staff to ensure they are able to maximise the benefit of Social Value activities and other 'soft' measures to enable them to hit the Kier Group minimum target of 40 points
- Monitor performance against Kier and Client / Framework KPIs, providing internal and external reports as required
- Work with Framework Managers and Key Account Holders to address any shortfalls against KPIs
- Liaise with Kier Eastern Communications Officer in respect of internal and external promotion of Social Value activities and the community / business / charitable benefits realised
- Work collaboratively with the Group Marketing team, Kier Eastern Communications Officer, Kier site staff and relevant external bodies to co-ordinate company-wide initiatives such as Open Doors and Shaping Your World
- Work with office and project teams to organise Social Value activities and maximise any Social Value opportunities that may come from client events such as ground breaking and topping out ceremonies
- Deliver briefings / talks on Social Value at all levels both internally and externally as necessary.
- Provide Social Value assistance to colleagues in respect of bids or marketing initiatives
- Assist in the collation of information for and the writing and production of Social Value-related Awards entries
- Work as a collaborative member of the Kier Construction Eastern team, facilitating the sharing of knowledge and best practice across the business
- Maintain responsibility for own performance, continuously developing skills and knowledge
- Carry out all Kier activities in line with the Business Ethics policy and code of conduct Ensure Safety, Health and Environmental Management (SHE) is made every Kier Employee's first priority and put to the top of all agendas.
- Experience of Social Value strategy implementation
- Understanding of and experience of working with the Social Value Act
- Experience of delivering Social Value in collaboration with key stakeholders
- Experience of Corporate Responsibility and Community engagement
- Experience of promoting a Social Value culture across a business and balancing Social Value with commercial pragmatism
- Experience of working with Schools / Colleges.
