Position - Technical Administrator (permanent)
Location - Within 45minute commute of Quedgeley, Gloucester

The opportunity:
Kier are looking for a Technical Administrator to join the team in our Quedgeley, Gloucester Office. Although the role is mainly administrative there will be the opportunity to expand into the Procurement / Commercial / Pre-Construction department, so this is a really good opportunity to expand on your existing knowledge. We are looking for someone ideally who has experience of working within the construction industry, and if possible someone with experience of Oracle, but certainly we are looking for someone with a passion for their job who can multitask.
Responsibilities:
  • Administration relating to the printing, issuing and monitoring, executing and archiving of Sub Contract documentation
  • Update and accurately maintain records and databases.
  • Providing reports to site-based staff on a weekly basis
  • Entering data onto in-house computer systems
  • Arranging for documentation to be scanned and uploaded onto the in-house computer system
  • Archiving of completed documentation
  • Supplier Finance Scheme - Initiate and liaise with Sub Contractors to start the procedure. Liaise with Group/Lloyds Bank/Kier Accounts Department to finalise procedure.
  • Dealing with incoming Supply Chain questions/requests
  • Maintain filing systems both physical and electronic
  • Receive and distribute incoming procurement post. Recognise what is important/urgent and scan or email to relevant parties
  • Any ad-hoc tasks as required

  • Skills and Experience:
  • Proven experience in administration (sub-contract procurement experience is desirable but not essential)
  • Computer literacy to include working knowledge of Microsoft systems, including Word, Excel and Outlook. Access Database and procurement systems preferably Oracle an advantage
  • Good telephone Manner and organisational ability.
  • Excellent communicator and ability to multi-task and action concurrently.
  • A Team Player but able to work with minimal supervision
  • You should be honest and reliable and must work well under pressure
  • Adaptable to change, approachable and conscientious and willing to accept ownership of tasks.
  • Ability to deliver accurate data.
  • Committed and pro-active with adherence to quality
