Project Electrical Engineer

Kier Construction is currently looking to recruit a Project Electrical Engineer.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand the technical and buildable requirements of the specifications and drawings
  • Resolve any technical queries during the contract
  • Raise and close out technical submissions for materials, equipment and sub-contract packages
  • Assist the commercial team with material and sub-contract procurement
  • Hold technical discussions and reviews with Suppliers and Sub-contractors
  • Manage the sub-contract packages to comply with the company process requirements
  • Produce regular progress reports and attend progress meetings to monitor and review the progress of works against programme
  • Co-ordinate sub-contractors and suppliers and manage supervisors
  • Assist the commercial team with management of costs and contractual obligations
  • Liaise with the professional team as required
  • Establish and maintain a good relationship with client
  • Ensure that company SHE systems are in place and adhered to
  • Assist with the management of commissioning and handover procedures
  • Manage the production of as built and operation and maintenance information
  • Make optimum and efficient use of current I.T (in areas such as MS Office applications, Internet, Intranet, EDMS etc.)
  • Contribute to a cohesive, performance driven, flexible, supportive, rewarding, challenging and celebratory team.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • NVQ/HND/HNC or equivalent qualifications desirable
  • Experience and proven track record in electrical construction project engineering
  • Experience of Science Sector or Healthcare Projects an advantage
  • Excellent communicator both verbal and written
  • Logical thinker
  • Able to prioritise, organise, plan and manage workloads
  • Be able to work on your own initiative
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
  • High IT skills
  • Lead by example in health and safety and attitude
  • Commercially aware
  • Be able to motivate yourself and others
  • Quality and accuracy of work of the highest calibre
  • Able to work as a team as well as own work
