Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Location: Oxfordshire

Salary: £45,000 + Car Allowance and Package

Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor with an understanding of the sub contractor's commercial position? Following consistent growth, the time has come for this employer to review its contractual relationship with suppliers and clients, whilst maintaining its collaborative ethos and principles.

You can expect to play a key role in the commercial team, putting your sub contract commercial skills to good use with the chance to make a real impact in security and profitability of the company's relationships.

The Role:

  • Ownership of project pricing, from initial assessment via estimate to final quotation.
  • Complete take offs and bills of quantities where required.
  • Agree and managing client contracts, including applications, variations and final accounts.
  • Prepare and delivery project cashflows.
  • Establish project budgets using line element cost codes and delivering margin against these.
  • Manage the supply chain - including consultants, subcontractors and suppliers - to ensure back to back contract terms and aligned framework agreements.
  • Administration of the supply chain bible, adding new suppliers where required and removing those that consistently fail to perform.
  • On site valuations and applications to clients including final accounts at project completion.
  • On site measurement of subcontractor works, producing payment certificates and payless notices if required.
  • Final account agreement with subcontractors, managing contra charges and retentions as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System at all times, keeping paper and electronic documentation, records and filing up to date.
  • Operate with the highest regard to Health & Safety ensuring compliance with the Health & Safety policy.


The Candidate:

  • Degree level qualification in Quantity Surveying
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Contractor's Quantity Surveyor
  • Knowledge of the Timber Frame sector is highly beneficial
  • An understanding, and interest, in the creating a more collaborative approach to construction contracting
  • A team player with a can-do attitude and project mentality
