Position: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Salary and benefits: Competitive salary plus full package, including company car, healthcare, matched pension and other flexible benefits
Location: Within 1 hours' commute of Warmley, with work mainly in central Bristol

Business area: Buildings
Introduction: This is an excellent opportunity to join our team in Bristol within the Western & Wales Buildings region. With a strong order book for the coming years, there are several new projects due to commence early 2019 which require your expertise. The projects coming up for the Bristol team include education, commercial, retail, student accommodation, leisure and public sector schemes valued between £5 and £50m.
Key responsibilities:
  • Provide commercial input including financial and contractual performance forecasts to the management team.
  • Help ensure that business targets and KPI's are exceeded
  • Preparation of monthly cost / value reports for area, together with review of results and consideration of trends with other contract team members
  • Physical measurement of works and agreement of same with client and subcontractors
  • Implementation and compliance with the contract change control procedure and monitoring thereof including notices to client as appropriate
  • Commercial and contractual advice to area team as and when required
  • Managing sub-contractors including sending out enquiries, collating prices, comparing with tender, negotiation, order placement, agreement of account and payments
Key skills and qualifications:
  • Educated to high level or equivalent with experience
  • Experience managing teams
  • Experience within a similar role and level
