This organisation has entered into an exciting new venture and have set up a modular construction factory. They now seek a Shift Manager, initially working days only on a 5-day week with the progression to a 2-shift system where you will be alternating between 6-2 and 2-10 along with your team. There will be a strong emphasis on placed on Right First Time and a team commitment to deliver an excellent product on time. The role will cover six production zones including multiple team leaders and in excess of 40 operatives. You will be responsible for instilling a disciplined and positive working environment. In conjunction with the Production Manager you will also look to drive out waste at each stage of the process.

We would like to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience in managing and motivating Production Teams
  • Experience of working with Lean Methodologies
  • Good background in manufacturing or construction manufacturing for construction, eg timber frame, joists, roof trusses, steel fabrication or light gauge steel would be ideal)
  • Ability to organise and motivate teams of people in an environment where quality and customer service are of primary importance
  • Willingness to embrace new ways of working and thinking
  • If you are also able to demonstrate some knowledge of CNC machine operation, this would be beneficial
