Senior Bid Manager Salary and benefits - Highly competitive salary offered plus fully extensive package, such as company car or car allowance, healthcare, company matched pension up to 7.5%, two excellent share options, plus numerous retail discounts Location - London The opportunity and team: Kier Construction London, based in Loughton, Essex, is looking for an experienced Senior Bid Manager to join a hugely talented Pre-Construction team. You' will join us as a Senior Bid Manager, and bring with you plentiful experience and knowledge of the bid management process from within a main contractor background. Reporting to the Pre-Construction Director, you will lead the bid team and ensure clients are provided with properly constructed commercial and technical submissions to an industry-leading standard. Overall, you'll be responsible for contributing to planned and sustained business growth, facilitating the production of professionally written proposal content and overseeing other elements of the bid process. Responsibilities:
  • Constantly monitor and maintain a high knowledge and awareness of industry best practices and initiatives.
  • Follow the Kier estimating and design management procedures and ensure they are implemented at each stage of the bid management/tender process.
  • Chair initial bid team meeting, brief team on bid.
  • Ensure all designer appointments are correct and design responsibilities and fees are agreed and understood and forecast.
  • Liaise closely with the client team.
  • Develop relationships and maintain close contact with key decision makers throughout the bid process.
  • Establish a clear and thorough understanding of the bid requirements, including the main deliverables and the client's drivers for developing the project.
  • Ensure that bids are completed in a timely fashion, providing kier with the best commercial and design options.
  • Lead the bid team at internal adjudication and ensure the agenda and our procedures are completed incorporating all qualifications, clarifications and derogations.
  • Ensure risk registers are produced and managed throughout the bid process.
  • Develop and monitor tender period programme, circulate to bid team and ensure team buy-in.
    • Keys Skills and Qualifications:
  • MCIOB or MRICS qualified (or similar) preferred.
  • Design; planning; project management or estimating qualification.
  • Excellent communication and diplomacy skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
