Position: Cost Planner

Team: Kier Strategic Frameworks and Alliances

Location: Kier head office at Tempsford Hall, Sandy, Bedfordshire - ideally you'll be based within a 1 hour drive.

The opportunity:

Kier Strategic Frameworks and Alliances provides construction services across the public sector, focusing on the central government departments and regional authorities, securing and growing national and regional construction framework business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all aspects of quoted works process in order to maximise revenue and operating profit
  • Estimate the costs of projects in order to meet or exceed the client's requirements
  • Determine contractual, financial, technical and operational risks and to find opportunities to minimise risk and maximise gross profit
  • Support the fulfilment of the programme of works safely, on time and to the required quality while maximising the gross profit and client's satisfaction
  • Promote Kier Group's values towards its customer in order to meet or exceed their expectations

Requirements:

  • We welcome applications from those with suitable experience and/or a construction related accredited degree e.g. RIBA, MCIBSE, CIOB or ICE
  • The right to live and work within the UK (or the ability to obtain the correct visa/work permit)
  • A full UK driving licence.
To be successful in the role candidates will be expected to demonstrate the ability to work, manage and lead effectively within a team and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will need to show potential leadership skills, able to make decisions, manage resources and negotiate on all levels.

We also require you to be business and customer aware, hopefully gained from previous work experience within the industry and a good knowledge of Kier and our structure as a business. More then anything we are looking for an individual who is committed, with a positive and proactive attitude towards their development.
