Location: Within 1 hours' commute of Rushden
Business area: Buildings Kier Construction Eastern is looking to recruit a Business Development Manager, reporting to the Business Development/Operations Director. The position is based out of our Rushden Office and will mainly cover the operational area covered by the Rushden Office - Northamptonshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire. Attendance at Kier Construction Eastern's Head Office at Waterbeach will also be required on a weekly basis. The role will primarily involve working with the pre-construction and operational teams, however it will not involve bid writing or bid submission input. It is expected that the candidate will have gained a minimum of 5 years' experience working in a similar positional for an established construction/building company. Key Responsibilities:
  • Presenting Kier to potential clients and consultants through direct communication, in face to face meetings, telephone calls and e-mails.
  • Generation of leads and appointments for preliminary interviews and briefings.
  • Assist in the creation of client proposals and any subsequent documentation as part of the Kier submission team.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of client's objectives, their organisation, their personnel and their capital works programme.
  • Keep informed about issues affecting the industry sector and collect competitor information.
  • Monitor and report upon Client Satisfaction Forms and produce information on a monthly basis for the Key Performance Indicators.
  • Visit new and existing client/consultant and prepare reports on the visits
  • Skills and experience required:
  • Holder of a Full UK Drivers Licence
  • Recognised sales and marketing qualification and / or proven track record in similar discipline
  • Exceptional relationship management and networking abilities coupled with a genuine passion for the sector - Maintenance, Facilities, Insurance, Property and Environmental
  • Natural gravitas to engage with and influence senior executives both internally and externally
