As a market leader in the manufacture of building materials and products this company operates throughout both the UK, and Europe supplying materials to leading blue-chip companies. As a group company made up of six businesses they have a truly diverse construction related product range.


As Production Manager for their manufacturing site in South Wales, you will be responsible for the manufacture of their roofing solutions. These roofing solutions are manufactured primarily for major house builders.


To be successful on this you will have strong organisational skills and be able to get the best out your production team through the use of your leadership skills and ability to deploy advanced manufacturing production techniques.


You will be responsible for ensuring that production productivity targets are reached, and develop the production team to meet agreed business objectives.


Role responsibilities:

  • Ensure the achievement of production and operational performance targets
  • Efficiently and effectively run the production unit in order to manufacture safely and produce a quality product
  • Continuous improvement - specifically in relation to the improvement of productivity quality, safety and cost.
  • In order to meet business demand you will develop and commission any new technology that is required.
  • Promotion of best practice to ensure the manufacturing objectives are achieved
  • Maintain a safe working environment for all employees


About you:


The successful candidate:

  • will have significant Production Management experience, and be able to demonstrate strong leadership ability. Specifically in woodworking and joinery
  • be qualified in IOSH and possess excellent knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards
  • possess good organisational and time management skills and effectively communicate orally and in writing
  • be able to manage projects, through prioritisation, and identifying and addressing problems swiftly
  • be driven by results, ambitious and determined
  • be comptent in the use of MS Office and hold a full UK Driving Licence
