Our Client is one of the leading suppliers of Heavy Civil Engineering prestressed and reinforced precast concrete to the road and rail sector, in addition to supplying other more general sectors of the precast market. As a result of continued growth and larger contract size, they are increasingly winning orders on NEC supply agreement and subcontract formats. They are now urgently seeking to recruit a full time and permanent Project Construction Engineer to be based at their office in Tuxford, North Nottinghamshire. The role will be to take ownership of design and detailing activities from start to completion of the civil engineering and precast projects. The successful applicant will report directly to the Design Manager but will have day to day involvement with the Operations Manager.
Key Tasks will include:
* Drafting works such as assembly, geometry drawing etc.
* RC detailing and related activities.
* Developing and updating company catalogues, libraries etc.
* Recording completed projects to various charts and lists.
* Creating, developing and updating various charts and lists.
* Marketing activities in terms of design and drafting works.
* Liaising with the clients about ongoing projects.
* Periodical reporting to company management.
Education / Experience
* College or University Education with technical specialisation (Master's Degree is an advantage)
* Tekla - Advanced.
* Autocad - Advanced.
* Microsoft Excel - Advanced.
* Microsoft Outlook - Advanced.
* Microsoft Powerpoint - Basic.
* Microsoft Project - Basic.
* Microsoft Word - Advanced.
* Full UK Driving License.
Personality Requirements / Skills
* Shall be familiar in the interpretation of appropriate national & international industry standards.
* Minimum 2 years experience in Civil Construction Design market (Drafting works, RC Detailing).
* Responsible, communicative, assertive, loyal and a team player.
* Able to learn to adapt and work with new software.
* Thorough knowledge of the design and construction process.
* Good knowledge of materials in terms of design and detailing.
* Familiar with design detailing in accordance with Eurocodes.
* Flexibility with reference to travelling and working hours.
The successful candidate will be based at our clients premises near Retford although some travel to UK site will be required. The potential to grow into a senior / leadership role would be an advantage.
