Title: CPC Operative

Location: Commutable within /up to an hour of Kings Lynn.

Business area: Utilities - Anglian Water Framework

Introduction: Working in alliance with one of the leader water utility companies in the UK, this is an exciting opportunity for a customer-centric Operative within Kier Utilities, working on the Anglian Water IMR Reactive Contract

No day will be the same in this crucial role where you will be required to respond to supporting reactive repair teams on live assets including comm pipes and Burst Mains. You will be required to take fittings/barriers/cones/pumps and on occasions Mini-diggers. On occasions you will also be required to take aggregates and tarmac to backfill and reinstate open excavations. There will also be regular site clearance and pressure (towable) washdowns.

Key responsibilities:
  • Responsibility for personal and site safety
  • Carry out general construction work as instructed by the FPM.
  • Operate and maintain pickup trucks (mini-digger advantage but not essential).
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant Safety, Health and Environmental legislation, business policy & procedure and local instruction & guidance.
  • Ensure full and correct use of vehicles, plant and materials, keeping wastage to a minimum.
  • Any ad-hoc duties that may occur as instructed by the management team or team leader / ganger.
  • This is customer facing so essential you have good customer service skills to deal with customers that may have been affected by a lose of supply or have been indirectly affected or their property and surrounding areas.

  • Skills and experience required:
  • UK driving licence
  • First Aid certificate
  • Manual Handling trained
  • Construction experience
  • NRSWA Operative
  • Towing
  • CPC & 7.5 tonne driver desirable but not essential.
