This is an exciting opportunity to be a highly influential Senior Leader in one of Anglian Water's Alliances. We support Anglian Water in ensuring we keep the water flowing to 6 million customers across the region. As we prepare to tackle more stringent and challenging regulatory standards and targets, we are redesigning our approach to put our customers at the heart of everything we do. Essential to achieving our objectives is our collaborative working relationships with our Alliance partners.

Our Integrated Maintenance & Repair (IMR) Alliance is responsible for providing our customers with safe cleaning drinking water through a network of 37,000km of pipes. This new role will be pivotal in ensuring that our maintenance and repair activities on the network, are managed effectively and efficiently to our customers expectations. In addition our IMDS (Integrated Metering and Developer Services) Alliance cover industrial and domestic metering, new housing and estate infrastructure and water efficiency audits.

To help our IMR and IMDS Alliances work closer together than ever before, we are looking for a Head of Shared Services to drive consistency and first- class services to keep us at the forefront of the Water industry and delight our customers.

What will you be doing?

Managing the delivery of reinstatement, stores and logistics, street works, plant, utility drawings, traffic management and administration across IMR and IMDS, you'll lead and own a group of projects and programmes from client approval through to handover and deliver optimum delivery strategies.

With input into the Pan Alliance marketing and communication strategies, you'll embrace and promote a Health & Safety and customer focussed culture where our teams feel empowered and proud to work within IMR and IMDS.


Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver the portfolio of projects in line with defined delivery measurables within the commercial models of each Alliance using TOTEX methodology to enhance efficiencies.
  • Establish a commercial strategy which embraces synergy across the Alliances to maximise optimisation and increase the potential for outperformance.
  • Instil a continuous improvement culture and approach across all areas of the Pan Alliance.
  • Ensure Health & Safety is always prioritised and incorporated in the implementation of strategies, projects, standards and processes.
  • Establish and maintain a high performing and motivated team who understand the vision and direction of the Pan Alliance and our proud and enthusiastic to be part of the journey.
  • Develop long- lasting and trusted relationships with stakeholders where clear communications and integrity are central to all activity.

What do you need?

As our next Head of Shared Services, we are looking for you to possess significant experience in a Senior Operational/ Management role and be comfortable in assessing risks and making significant operational decisions in dynamic situations. Working flexibly and with a proactive and enthusiastic nature, you'll have an excellent understanding of work practices, processes and procedures relating to Water Services and be comfortable making important decisions.

With an excellent track record of delivering in a collaborative environment, you'll be able to influence a range of stakeholders to create "win- win" situations which contribute to meeting the pan Alliance aims and objectives. In this role you'll rely on not only your strong technical and data expertise to influence strategy, you'll also have an approachable and inspirational leadership style which creates trust and enthusiasm to deliver on challenging objectives.
