Introduction:
Kier Construction is looking to recruit an Estimator. The successful post-holder will be responsible for providing first class estimating services maximising the ability of Kier Services, to secure new business opportunities in line with the Business Plan objectives.
Key responsibilities:
- Management of tender estimating role within a General Works department, with bids up to £5million
- Punctual reporting and presentation of supplier bids / packages to Bid Manager and wider pre-construction team
- Production of accurate, detailed, competitively priced tender bids, fully scoped and presented in logical manner for adjudication
- Collaboratively working as part of a pre-construction team, to deliver a quality tender bid proposal through the Bid Manager.
- Good understanding of forms of contract allowing comprehensive, compliant bids to be put together.
- Excellent organisational skills in reviewing tender documents, identifying scope and packages that require pricing
- Strong management skills in preparing packages for pricing, issuing to relevant supply chain partners and receiving / collating / reviewing information received
- Ability to impart relevant information on package selection, reasoning and comparison between supplier bids
- 5 years or more within an estimating role, preferably in works relating to fit out and refurbishment, with a view to developing skills to include new build works
- Good knowledge of NEC3, JCT, SCAPE and other Framework contract bidding mechanisms a positive advantage
