Electrician to be based at Borras quarry near Wrexham.

You will be provided with a van to travel between sites, so a full driving licence is essential.

A Full time, permanent position for an electrician to join a leading construction materials group. They operate two cement plants and around 80 quarries, 40 asphalt plants, 170 ready-mixed concrete and mortar plants, nine concrete and clay products plants, four contract surfacing businesses, six import/export terminals and two slate production facilities.

The ideal candidate will have a ONC/HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering and work experience in a heavy industrial environment, such as a quarry. Other requirements are as follows:

  • Time served/apprentice trained Electrical Engineering craftsman
  • Multi-skilled engineering maintenance
  • PLC and VSD Experience (desirable)
  • Good working knowledge of electrical LV isolation
  • 17th Edition Wiring regulation BS7671 Certificate
  • A good understanding of Electrical maintenance methods & techniques.
  • Knowledge & experience of medium/high voltage networks including switching methods.
  • A working knowledge of BS7671 inspection & testing - qualifications in this area would be desirable
  • A sound working knowledge of Health, Safety & Environment regulations
  • Computer literate
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude
  • Good team player

You will be required to be flexible in duties undertaken, occasionally carrying out these tasks at other sites in the area.
