Dutton Recruitment are looking for passionate, hard-working and ambitious people to join our client's Panel and Rail Workshops

We are offering a fantastic in-house training programme for individuals who would like to become competent Panel Wirers. The training scheme starts with the Production Assistant / Mechanical Assembler role.

Rates:

  • £8.78 Mon to Fri up to 38 hrs
  • £10.78 Over 38 hrs
  • £10.78 Sat
  • £12.78 Sun

Working Hours are

Mon to Thurs - 7. 00 am to 17.00 pm (2 x 30 min breaks)

Friday - 7.00 am to 16.30 pm (2 x 30 min breaks)

After an initial 12-week probationary period, individuals will have the opportunity to transfer onto East Midlands Instrument's books, and continue with the trainee Panel Wirer training programme, until successfully becoming an in-house qualified Panel Wirer attracting the rate of £13.25 per hr.

Main Purpose of Job:

Training towards to competently wire panels and electrical assemblies from drawings within time and quality restraints.

Key Tasks: (Training towards the below tasks)

  • To be able to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, schedules and layout drawings.
  • To be competent with Control Panel Wiring manufacture, including - marking out for component fit, fitting of components to chassis plates. To use correct wiring techniques, including the correct use of crimping tools and identification of wiring. To be competent in using the correct tools for the correct application. To be able to complete looming of wiring to a high standard. In general, to have a very good working knowledge of all aspects of Control Panel Wiring.
  • To be able to carry out inspection and testing of panels and wiring using continuity testing and insulation resistance testing.
  • To be able to work within a team in a workshop environment and be self- motivated.
  • To work to continuing and consistent high standards.
  • To be able to plan, organise and co-ordinate the task in an efficient manner, to liaise with Team Leader / Production Engineer to ensure a smooth flowing and effectively run jobs.
  • To be able to supply your own hand tools required for Panel Wiring (Not including crimp tools which will be supplied by the Client)
  • To work in a safe manner at all times having due regard for yourself and others
  • You will be required to carry out duties of a Production Assistant when there are no Panel Wiring works available.

General Duties:
