Introduction:

Kier Strategic Highways are looking to recruit a Geotechnical Technician to join the South West Design Services contract in Exeter.

Kier Highways design roads, bridges and intelligent transport systems (ITS), covering strategic and nationally important roads, as well as local roads serving local communities. Our projects range from major improvements to complete renewals of roads and structures. With specialist teams, we manage complex works from conception through to handover at the end of maintenance periods.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Delivery of highways and/or geotechnical schemes on time and to budget.
  • Preparing design calculations and drawings, as required.
  • Preparing technical documents and reports, as required.
  • Dealing with project related correspondence, as required.
  • Maintaining high technical standards, consistent with the project brief.
  • Assisting in project administration and control including monitoring of costs and programme
  • Ensure compliance with the Quality, Safety and Environmental Management Systems.
  • Comply with relevant health and safety legislation, particularly CDM Regulations
  • Perform other duties as may from time to time be reasonably required.

    • Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • C&G CAD or working towards qualification
  • Ideally experience in a Civil Engineering environment
  • Computer literate with competent ability and knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
