Kier Local Highways are currently recruiting for a Traffic Management Coordinator join the Local Highways Suffolk County Council Maintenance contract







Kier Highways design roads, bridges and intelligent transport systems (ITS), covering strategic and nationally important roads, as well as local roads serving local communities. Our projects range from major improvements to complete renewals of roads and structures. With specialist teams, we manage complex works from conception through to handover at the end of maintenance periods.







Key Responsibilities











  • ยท Provide an efficient support for the Control Hub, covering administration duties (which may include dealing with emergency calls, administering the lone worker system, statutory undertaker's equipment enquiries and telephone correspondence).
  • Keep accurate records of the performance of Suffolk Highways in providing accurate and timely notices
  • Provide accurate data so that it facilitates the opportunity to co-ordinate additional work
  • Co-ordinate notices to ensure that these are accurate, timely and facilitate the best use of Suffolk's highway network, minimising disruption
  • Administer business processes and procedures associated with the receipt of TMA notices for Suffolk Highways regarding works on, in or immediately adjacent to the public highway;
  • Ensure that these notices are recorded in Insight so that there is countywide visibility of this activity, particularly for the benefit of the Customer Service Centre, Customer Liaison Officers, Highway Condition Technicians, Community Wardens, Network Co-ordinators and Network Inspectors;


















Key Skills and Qualifications:







  • NVQ level 3 in an appropriate subject (i.e. business administration or customer services) or equivalent knowledge and experience.



  • Have a good understanding of compliance with NRSWA legislation (New Roads and Street Works Act 1991) and TMA (Traffic Management Act 2004)
  • Good working knowledge of software systems such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Powerpoint, Insight and Works Manager
  • Experience particularly in, highway maintenance, road construction and surfacing.
