Introduction:
Working in alliance with one of the leading Gas Utility companies, delivering natural and green gas to 5.9 million homes and businesses across Scotland and the South of England. this is an exciting opportunity for a customer-centric SHE Advisor within Kier Utilities, to work on the Scotia Gas Framework.
No day will be the same in this crucial role where most of your time will be spent site based and you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the delivery teams and sub-contractors on site. This role will report to the SHE manager and will require the effective utilisation of time and resources to meet delivery programmes. You will be expected to carry out the implementation and monitoring of health, safety, quality and performance standards and ensuring all work meets required water industry regulations and SG approved standards
Key Responsibilities:
- Under the direction of the SHE Manager assist in delivering Kier's strategic goals for SHEA through the development and application of specific Business SHEA programmes aligned to Kier Group's strategy and Critical Operating Tasks (COTs).
- Ensure the Business Unit remains compliant with all legislation regarding Health Safety and the Environment.
- Drive to deliver continual SHEA improvements across the Business Unit
- In conjunction with the SHEA Managers ensure that suitably Qualified and Experienced SHEA Personnel (SQEP) staff levels are maintained to support the operational requirements.
- Ensure Kier's SHEA Standards are implemented to allow all relevant legislation to be complied with.
- Under the direction of the SHE Manager develop, maintain and implement SHEA leading and lagging key performance indicators (KPIs) and related improvement programmes.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- NEBOSH General Cert.
- Detailed understanding of SHEA legislation
- Working knowledge of ISO 14001 and BS OHSAS 18001 Standards
- Utilities expertise would be preferred
