Introduction:
Kier Utilities is looking to recruit an Operations Manager, who will report to the Senior Operations Manager and will join the UKPN ED1SON Alliance. As Operations Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the direction and management of an operational business stream ensuring good profitability and the delivery of business plans in a timely and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate fully as a member of the Energy Division Senior Management Team, and at all times promote the interest of the Group and Division.
- Accountable for the profit and loss performance of the portfolio of projects under their control.
- Monitor regularly and report to the Senior Operations Manager and Commercial Manager any significant variances to end of life costs, programme adherence, and project risks.
- Liaise with Alliance team members to progress schemes through the development stage to ADP proposal, ensuring compliance with Kier internal governance.
- Monitor all projects in terms of safety, quality and environmental compliance, and project compliance.
- Plan and liaise with other Senior Managers the allocation and recruitment of staff to ensure maximum efficiency and appropriate risk management.
- Communicate on a regular basis to project teams, the vision, objectives and business strategies of the Division and Group.
- Maintaining own technical and managerial awareness and proficiency to current standards.
- Establish and maintain strategic relationships with key Customers and their teams.
- Ensure that the contractual obligations and processes are carried out both to Customers and Suppliers.
- Create and manage business development opportunities in support of the Business Unit strategy and business plan, and support the work winning process.
- Identify and recommend personal development and training requirements for staff within their area.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Operationally and commercially aware with proven experience in a similar role within the construction/utilities market.
- Strong analytical and technical skills are essential
- Proven ability to build strong relationships with clients
- Able to plan approach of themselves and others effectively to enable a compliant / successful delivery by the due deadline.
- To have obtained recognised Industry qualifications;
- Holder of a full driving license.
