You will be supporting learning and helping raise the attainment of the student within the college, by engaging them in the curriculum and enabling them to make choices regarding their future. Keeping the student focused on a task, encouraging participation in a positive learning environment and giving positive and negative daily feedback whilst ensuring the student conducts themselves in line with the college rules.
This current post is ideal for candidates with previous LSA experience with challenging behaviour, who may have worked with children with ASD, ADHD, ODD and General Learning Difficulties.
Key skills and experience needed:
*Previous support work within an education environment or other transferable child-related experience
*A firm presence and strong behaviour management and challenging behaviour
*Previous one to one, small group work and/or whole class support
*Professional manner, Proactive, engaging and empathetic.
*Enthusiastic, friendly, patient and determined approach
*Experience or knowledge within special educational needs or Mental Health
