Kier Strategic Highways have an excellent opportunity for a DCP VRS Supervisor to join our Area 3 contract.

Kier Highways design roads, bridges and intelligent transport systems (ITS), covering strategic and nationally important roads, as well as local roads serving local communities.

Our projects range from major improvements to complete renewals of roads and structures. With specialist teams, we manage complex works from conception through to handover at the end of maintenance periods.

Your responsibilities:
  • Assessing plant and material needs for work to be carried out, undertaking risk assessments & safety checks, tool box talks and audits, review daily productivity targets to ensure budgets managed effectively.
  • Make appropriate use of IMS procedures to actively promote health and safety, risk assessments, programming of works, updating asset on the network.
  • Assist the Delivery Manager in the programming, management and delivery of schemes and maintenance works.
  • Daily allocation and supervision of works and resources to ensure compliance with program
  • Assist in emergency response, organize remedial repairs
  • Take an active role be assisting the Road Space Team, Network Control Centre (NCC), Contractors, Local Authorities and Police in the administration of works on the network to alleviate congestion due to road works.
  • Assist Delivery Manager as required to liaison with the Fleet / Transport Manager to ensure maintenance of vehicles and plant is up to date and when required for servicing.
  • What are we looking for?:
  • Typically 2+ years' experience of working within the highways industry including knowledge of network operations and scheme delivery
  • Ability to lead a team
  • Valid CSCS card
  • Computer literate with regards to Microsoft programmes
