Kier Strategic Highways have an excellent opportunity for a Pavement and Drainage Team Leader to join our Area 3 contract.
Kier Highways design roads, bridges and intelligent transport systems (ITS), covering strategic and nationally important roads, as well as local roads serving local communities.
Our projects range from major improvements to complete renewals of roads and structures. With specialist teams, we manage complex works from conception through to handover at the end of maintenance periods.

Your responsibilities:
Manage the surfacing and drainage renewal design teams to ensure successful delivery of instructed tasks and completion of projects and routine activities to programme and budget
Responsible for project control of surfacing and drainage schemes on a monthly basis, including management of financial information for both internal and external reporting
Working with the Roads Portfolio Manager, plan and manage resource levels to achieve annual outputs, including appropriate staff recruitment and retention, both permanent and temporary
Support the Roads Renewals manager in overseeing the quality and relationship with any external design and consultancy resources employed to support roads renewals programme delivery
Monitor and enhance the performance, training and development of direct reports. Provide direction, training and motivation necessary to secure the optimum commitment and competence of direct reports and their teams
Actively promote Health and Safety in the workplace, setting a good example to other employees and ensuring awareness of and compliance with general Health and Safety responsibilities as set out in the Health and Safety Management System.
What are we looking for?:
A degree or equivalent level qualification in an engineering discipline and experience of the application of highway design standards
A member of the CIHT, ICE or equivalent desirable
A good knowledge of surfacing and drainage asset management techniques and design standards
Ideally, some experience in working on strategic road networks
