Introduction:

Kier Local Highways are recruiting for Winter Maintenance Drivers to join the Surrey Council Highways Maintenance Contract.


Kier Highways design roads, bridges and intelligent transport systems (ITS), covering strategic and nationally important roads, as well as local roads serving local communities. Our projects range from major improvements to complete renewals of roads and structures. With specialist teams, we manage complex works from conception through to handover at the end of maintenance periods.

Key responsibilities:

· Drive a gritter and assist with plough mate duties during severe weather.

  • Carry out the gritting run as instructed, employing the methods and procedures laid down in the training and System of Works manuals
    • · Complete vehicle checks as laid down on the Driver Check sheet



    · Complete Driver log book entries



    · Wear the correct PPE and follow all safety rules and safe working practices


    Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Hold a current LGV Class 2 Licence (Cat C)
  • Hold a current Drive Qualification Card (DQC)
