The Role: Software Engineer

My client, a Worldwide company are looking to recruit a Software Engineer who will be responsible for the design and implementation of software systems throughout the World.

The Company

This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a company that has been in existence for over 30 years, employing over 500 people across the World. Responsible for Installations in over 120 Countries, 14,000 systems Worldwide

Responsibilities

    Design and develop control systems in a PLC environment (AB & Siemens)

    Develop modular software block to protect IP and facilitate rapid deployment

    Work closely with all departments, ensuring you are a key team member in transitioning new designs through documentation, prototyping, timely production and testing

    Provide global technical support, maintenance & documentation / document software functionality to customers, on a needs basis

    Use your electrical troubleshooting skills for undocumented prototype designs (low volage)

    Provide innovative ideas/technologies in system and software design to ensure the companies market edge

    Travel to sites around the globe to commission first off series machines and their software component

The Right Person

The successful Software Engineer will have a minimum of 3 years design experience with some autonomy, in special purpose machine design or manufacturing related field. You will be a degree qualified software or mechatronics engineer, as well as possessing the following skills and experience:-

    Rockwell and Siemens PLC software design & programming

    Rockwell and Siemens PLC systems and software

    SCADA Software, Wonderware, InTouch

    HMI Software, Rockwell & Siemens

    Industrial Communication Networks

    Technical documentation

    Basic understanding of Electrical Systems

    AutoCAD Electrical Design Experience (desirable)
