Title: Technician

Introduction:

Kier Strategic Highways are looking for a Stuctures Asset Technican Technician to join the Strategic team.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake Structures Inspections in accordance with BD 63/07 and current relevant standards.
  • Plan all aspects of structures inspection works to include compliance with Health & Safety legislation and specific Area Network Occupancy requirements.
  • Successful delivery projects against a given brief, to budget and programme ensuring efficiencies are realised on projects.
  • Produce factual structures related reports that meet specified quality and objectives.
  • Encourage within the team the ethos of a positive partnering relationship with Client, Framework and partnering Contractors, and assist with its development with other Kier internal staff members.
  • Assist in the mentoring and development of structures staff to grow organically and the development of in-house capabilities, and succession management.
  • Keep the Structures Asset Inspections Team Leader apprised of progress on projects.


    • Skills and Experience required:

  • Experience of structures inspections (or willing to learn) in accordance with BD 63/07 and current relevant standards.
  • HNC or higher in Civil Engineering or willing to work towards this qualification.
  • Management/Supervisory knowledge/experience accordingly.
  • Proactive and good organisation skills.
  • Be able to work at height and within Traffic Management
  • Working toward Structures Inspector Competencies and Certification in accordance with Highways England 'Interim Advise Note 192/16'.
  • A full valid Driving Licence.
