Kier Strategic Highways have an excellent opportunity for a M&E Specialist Technician to join our Area 3 contract.
Kier Highways design roads, bridges and intelligent transport systems (ITS), covering strategic and nationally important roads, as well as local roads serving local communities.
Our projects range from major improvements to complete renewals of roads and structures. With specialist teams, we manage complex works from conception through to handover at the end of maintenance periods.

Your responsibilities:
Liaise with the Health and Safety Advisor to develop safe systems of work and oversee the safe deployment of M&E operatives, ensuring the safety of operatives and network users is a primary consideration at all times.
Manage the Health and Safety aspects of all M&E schemes including the responsibilities of Principal Designer when required and manage the production of the scheme Construction Phase Plans and Health and Safety Files.
Be responsible for the planning and organisation of all routine and cyclical maintenance. Champion operational aspects of M&E activities to maximise efficiencies of resource and budget.
Assist the NCC Manager and M+E Manager in maintaining the Hindhead Tunnel to budget and contractual compliance.
Carry out investigations, inspections, surveys, studies and draft reports on identified problems providing options for solutions.
Manage the performance, training and development of direct reports. Provide direction, training and motivation necessary to secure the optimum commitment and competence of direct reports and their teams to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the network for all users
What are we looking for?:
Appropriate qualifications in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.
Degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification as a minimum requirement
Relevant experience of working within a Mechanical & Electrical environment.
First Aid Qualification, G39.
City & Guilds IEE Regulation 17th Edition & CSCS/ECS Registration.
