Breedon is a leading construction materials group in the UK and Ireland. We operate two cement plants, around 80 quarries, 40 asphalt plants, 170 ready-mixed concrete and mortar plants, nine concrete and clay products plants, four contract surfacing businesses, six import/export terminals and two slate production facilities.
We are currently seeking a Surfacing Supervisor within our Breedon Southern Contracting business. Primarily based in East Anglia, you will be responsible for managing the day to day running of asphalt sites and crew.
The key responsibilities of the role are as follows:
- Ensuring the placement of asphalt is completed within the prescribed timeframes and to a level of satisfaction.
- Leadership of asphalt crews alongside the foreman.
- Completion of daily reports and daily job specific risk assessments in conjunction with the foreman.
- Completion of site inspection forms.
- Demonstrate ability in asphalt laying works.
- Optimising financial performance through the administration of all contracting operations and obligations to meet or exceed contract requirements.
- Effective management of business assets, including human resources.
It is essential that you have the ability to independently manage asphalt surfacing crews and associated sub-contractors at all times, in a professional and courteous manner. You will have a full understanding of profit and loss accounts and full working knowledge of British standards to ensure compliance to clients and contractual specifications. It would be advantageous if you possess advanced knowledge of asphalt products.
