This establishment offers academic, vocational, industry and work placed courses to the next generation of learners in the South East. The college staff are experts in their field possessing the correct balance of industry and academic background to enable student achievement to result in the highest possible outcome.
We are seeking a vastly knowledgeable Learning and Quality Coordinator for a fixed-term contact until March 2020. The successful candidate will hold previous experience of accurate and efficient data recording, an administrative and coordination background, the ability to provide excellent customer care and maintain this during pressurised periods and the Strategic college improvement fund (SCIF).
Role responsibilities
To work with managers and their staff involved in the Strategic college improvement fund project.
To plan the implementation of the project, to record activity and to provide reports on progress for internal and external audiences.
To work with the Head of Learning and Quality and third parties to ensure effective peer review of practice visits and remote working between the two colleges.
To liaise with the Director of MIS to monitor the progress with developing management reporting to increase the effective focus on attendance and student achievement in the Learning & Quality Framework.
To liaise with HR to ensure that the management development programme is implemented across the college
To work with managers at the college to introduce a peer mentoring scheme for managers across both colleges during the autumn term 2019 and monitor progress.
To work with the Assistant Principal for Academic Support to track and monitor progress towards the implementation of new ways of working for student placement, induction, tutorial and support practices.
To support and coordinate the activities of the Teaching and Learning Mentor team.
To work with the Assistant Principal for Academic Support to engage learners in the improvement strategy including advocacy work and students as observers
To work with the Clerk to the Governors to provide a development programme for governors, increasing their involvement in the work of the college, to increase joint working with the Executive, peer working the third party, and to support training on governance.
To work with the Finance team to manage the budget for the Strategic college improvement fund project, ensuring that funds are appropriately allocated to project activity, match funds are recorded and the third party receive their proportion of the budget.
To work with college managers and their staff, under the direction of the Head of Learning and Quality, to support the further development and implementation of the Learning & Quality Framework.
To manage and monitor own workload and report against targets to the Head of Learning and Quality.
To participate in the Professional Development and Appraisal Scheme as a self-appraiser and to undertake wholeheartedly any staff development needs diagnosed during such appraisal.
The person & qualifications
Level 2 literacy and numeracy or willingness to achieve this.
Degree or minimum qualification to Level 3 eg A level in 2 or more subject areas.
Previous administrative and coordination experience.
Experience of accurate and efficient data recording.
Experience of planning and monitoring a range of activities
Experience of recording financial activities
Experience of using Microsoft Office and other IT databases.
Ability to provide excellent customer care and maintain this during pressurised periods
Ability to work in a team and establish good working relationships with others.
Ability to collate information, write reports, produce materials.
Ability to understand, apply and explain complex processes and procedures.
Ability to organise and schedule own work to meet deadlines set.
