The Company and the Role: The Company is a global temporary facility builder, and integrated FM and Logistics provider. They operate in a number of environments but within the UK their work tends to focus on providing support services to large engineering and construction projects. The company has recently won a contract to build a number of temporary buildings, including Offices, Canteens, Welfare facilities, Medical room, Warehouses and a Training facility, in support of a major construction and engineering project in the Waterside area of Southampton. It is now urgently seeking applications for the position of Quality Engineer. The company is looking to appoint a person for the project which is likely to start around the end of September and will last for around 6 - 7 months. Key Features of the Role: Read blueprints and instructions to comprehend the quality expectations for the product and supplies. Utilise your Quality Engineer skills to approve or reject raw materials with respect to quality standards and record supplier performance. Check build using appropriate methods (measuring dimensions, testing functionality, comparing to specifications etc.) Use automated systems to perform complex testing procedures and maintain records of testing, information and various metrics such as number of defects per day. Examine procedures of the entire build cycle from an Engineering perspective to ensure they are efficient and comply with safety standards. Utilise your QA Engineer Skills to monitor the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and well-maintained and discard any that doesn’t meet requirements. Prepare and submit reports. Follow Hazard elimination program (HELP). Knowledge and Skills Required: You should be an accomplished Quality Engineer. Experienced in quality control procedures relevant to construction and relevant legal standards and a working knowledge of data analysis/statistical methods and certification methods of quality control to ISO 9000 standard. Ideally you will have a valid CCNSG passport or relevant document and be able to follow safety rules as assigned by the Company. As the Quality Engineer you should be proficient in MS Office Word, Excel and QA software. What’s on Offer? £32-35K pro rata on a temporary worker basis. Minimum Holidays are expected to be taken from the end of September to November unless fully authorised by the Senior Manager on site.
