The College have an exciting opportunity for someone looking to further their career in construction or to gain more experience and to become a crucial part of their curriculum team as an Assistant Construction Technician.
You will be providing technical support to the lecturers and students in the Curriculum Area whilst creating and maintaining a high quality and safe environment that enhances the learning environment.
The successful technician will be required to work across all disciplines (Multi trades, Brickwork, Carpentry, and Electrical Installation) and levels according to the needs of the work and their skills and experience.

Role responsibilities
To ensure that workshops, classrooms, compound, storage areas, etc. are kept clean, tidy and in a safe and orderly condition, reporting any serious defects or safety hazards to the Head of Curriculum
To set workshops up as required, preparing all equipment, tools and material for lesson and demonstration etc.
To ensure that any hazardous substances are stored correctly, datasheets maintained, risk assessments undertaken and complied with
To assist with the unloading and transportation of goods and materials for the department, and to ensure safe and secure storage
To maintain tools and equipment in good working order and to undertake servicing, maintenance, repairs and safety checks as required and that inspection logs and maintenance records are kept
To provide support to lecturers and students in the classroom and workshops.

The person & qualifications
Fork-lift truck licence or ability and willingness to achieve.
Evidence of on-going professional development.
Relevant industrial experience
Practical construction workshop experience, including maintenance and repair.
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
