They are currently seeking a Financial Support Officer from Monday to Friday, 8.30am-5 pm, for an immediate start until a permanent post holder starts employment. They are offering an hourly rate of between £11 to £15 + Holiday Pay.

Role responsibilities
To maintain department operational procedures to ensure that the unit operates to auditable standards and provides timely payments to eligible learners
To provide excellent customer service to our diverse cohort of learners, taking into account individual needs and working with parents, teachers and key workers where appropriate
Working together with other team members, to deliver all forms of the 16-19 Bursary, HE Bursary and other bursary schemes, discretionary Learner Support Funds, free meals, reduced fare travel cards and Care To Learn scheme, in line with procedures.
To support learners in understanding and applying for financial support, including Advanced Learning Loans, Higher Education loans and other sources of funding for which they may choose to apply
To take all reasonable precautions to ensure against payments to ineligible persons by fraud.
To be familiar with the assessment criteria for all Further and Higher Education Financial Support schemes for prospective and existing students and to apply these in line with current legislation. To conduct means testing of applicants for financial support in line with government and college guidelines.
To contribute to creating and maintaining robust links between Student Finance and other college teams, to ensure appropriate referral and support of learners whose financial support needs are linked to welfare or safeguarding concerns.
To deliver and organise the administrative systems including attendance tracking that underpin financial support services and provide quantitative and qualitative analysis of the services.
To support team leaders in the tracking of 24+ Loans, HE Loans and other sources of appropriate funding by providing information for other departments such as MIS and Finance
To liaise with internal and external customers and stakeholders in relation to at-risk learners and applications for financial support.
To support the work across the Learner Services department especially at peak periods and special events when out of hours work will be required. 12. Any other duties commensurate with the grading of this post as may be required from time to time.
