Position: Senior QS (Electrical)
Location: Dundalk
Salary: Negotiable DOE
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the QS will be responsible for:
- Commercial control of all subcontracts from inception to completion
- Preparation of monthly cost reports and disseminate the resultant information appropriate to the recipients role and understanding
In conjunction with the Project Manager, the SQS will;
- Validate tender prices of new projects
- Be proactive in the commercial control of the project; keep the commercial performance of the projects under review from start to finish
- Identify and manage the risks associated with each project
- Offer objective and independent advice at all times
- Close out projects and subcontracts to be best commercial advantage of the company
- Work with the Project teams to review the project plan, business plan and procurement plan
- Ensure all projects are driven to provide the best value solutions and delivered on time and within budgets
- Review the project and close out report with the project manager and identify the main issues for continuous learning and improvement
- Leading the QS team on the project
- Mentoring and providing career guidance to intermediate and junior Quantity Surveyors
- Managing the Client and other external relationships;
- To work with the project manager and the project team to maintain excellent working relationships with the client from project start up to project completion
QS Qualifications:
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar technical discipline is essential
- Holding/ working towards chartership or membership of other relevant professional body is desirable
- Experience leading a team would be desirable
- Experience with contractual elements is essential
Senior QS Experience:
- Minimum 8 years relevant M&E experience, electrical bias preferable
- Demonstrable knowledge of the Construction sector with M&E expertise
- Evidence of leading projects in a client facing role
- Preferred experience will include both pre contract work e.g. feasibility, cost plans, cost estimating, tender documentation etc. through to post contract work to include contract administration, variations, valuations etc.
