Kier work in partnership with Anglian water to work on various civil schemes across the operational business area. The Alliance is an integral part of the Anglian Water operational business, helping to maintain serviceability across their asset base, whilst also delivering asset enhancement through TOTEX and capital schemes. This ultimately contributes to Anglian Water's key ODI (Outcome Delivery Incentive) and SIM (Customer Service Incentive) performance measures. The Alliance are tasked with delivering work across the Water and Water Recycling asset base, both in Infrastructure and Non-Infrastructure. Due to the broad spectrum of works covered, the team must be equipped to deliver a diverse set of projects - for example:

  • Delivering a £400k water tower refurbishment
  • Responding to a 6m deep sewer collapse
  • Fitting handrails and ladder guards to filter beds
  • Up-grading pumping stations within the sewerage networks
  • Changing obsolete instrumentation on water treatment plants

Individual job values can vary from between £10k to £900k.

This role will allow you to lead the commercial support function across the water embedded alliances, with commercial management, financial assurance and risk management.

You will have the opportunity to implement a procurement strategy that is aligned to Anglian Waters' goals and performance outcomes.

You will identify opportunities for process improvement and support the implementation of business led improvement initiatives to reduce cost whilst improving performance and customer service.

This role will require a high level of internal and external stake holder management whilst you lead on the efficiency strategy, manage the sub contract sign off governance and in turn ensure development of the wider team's knowledge, skills and training.

You'll manage a team of cost analyst to support the joint delivery on all aspects of planning procurement and execution.

You will promote a culture of trust, integrity and honestly through out all alliances, using your communication and leadership skills.

This role requires a thorough understanding of NEC3 forms of contract and being able to work in a complex matrix team environment and a thorough knowledge of construction and contact law.
