The Role: Senior Design Engineer (Electronics)

My client is looking for an Electronics Design Engineer to be responsible for the design and development of new analogue and digital designs, these will include embedded microprocessors and safety critical hardware to work with new and existing products for use in hazardous areas.

Responsibilities

    Design, develop, simulate and test digital and analogue circuits to meet product specifications

    Ensure hardware development and testing is completed in line with project timescales

    Create and maintain technical documentation detailing system requirements, performance analysis, design analysis, certification documents etc.

    Develop a profound understanding of current equipment and be able to provide in depth technical knowledge and support to colleagues, distributors and customers

    Work with notified bodies to ensure new development projects meet the requirements of ATEX/IECEc/cCSAus certification using various protection concepts such as intrinsic safety

    Ensure all existing and new designs meet the requirements of all relevant EMC and electrical safety standards

The Right Person

The successful Electronic Design Engineer will possess a minimum 2:1 degree in an electronics engineering or related subject/experience as well as the following attributes:-

    Proven experience in analogue and digital design including embedded devices and switch mode power supplies

    Experience with Altium Designer

    PCB Layout experience

Desirable Experience

    Experience or knowledge with EMC/RFI testing

    Knowledge of ATEX, IECEx and cCSAus hazardous area approvals and protection concepts such as intrinsic safety
