Permanent Full time - 45 hours a week

Kier work as part of a framework for Western Power Distribution to ensure its customers have power in their homes, businesses, schools and hospitals. We are an essential member of the team mainly working on reactive and planned maintenance In Exeter, Bristol and down to Cornwall.

We employ a large number of teams across the region, whose role it is to either respond to emergencies to dig down in the street or on private property to give our client access to repair their asset, or to lay new mains cables as part of their ongoing planned maintenance programme. Our responsibility begins with planning the works and finishes with us clearing site having put it back to the same or better condition than when we arrived, making sure that customers are happy and informed throughout every stage of the works

As the Agent you will have constant contact and liaison with Clients Team Managers to ensure we manage the work instructed to us in a professional, efficient and commercially aware manner. You will continually encourage the Client to increase the value of work issued to us and to co-ordinate and manage contractors/direct labour to ensure all H&S processes are adhered. Ensuring the work is delivered is to the correct specification and quality is key to our success.

You will have overall health and safety responsibility for each site in your area, strong communication skills are a must as you work with the client, sub contractor teams and direct labour.

Multi-tasking will be a key skill as your co-ordinate planning and programming of weekly jobs with the clients network team and the clients streetworks team. You could then be ordering materials, delivering tool box talks, managing plant and quality inspections. This role will keep you busy with a variety of core works - no one day will be the same!

To be successful in this role, you'll need to be adaptable and have the ability to manage your time effectively. You will ideally hold a 5 day site safely qualification, have a full UK driving Licence. You will need knowledge of NRWSA and the traffic management act, strong IT skills and knowledge of the electricity network. You will also be responsible to ensure that standby rotas for weekends and out of hour works are in place and at times there may be a need to act as a standby manager.
