We are currently recruiting for a Store's Manager who will play a leading role in the South West Water Network Service Alliance. They shall be able to create, implement, monitor and report against a stock management policy and associated KPI's that ensures excellence in procurement, stock profiling, stock control, allocation of costs, risk management and quality assurance. In addition to creating policies and procedures, forecasting and monitoring stock levels, creating and presenting reports and attending meetings, the Stores Manager shall also be involved in the day to day checking of deliveries and issuing materials to our construction teams, and allocation of costs on to our stock system.




Accountabilities of the Stores Manager:

  • Overall responsibility for the efficient operations of the stores function and management of all stores staff
  • Day to day management of stores to ensure that engineering, non-engineering and consumable materials are always available, whilst also minimising the overall stock holding

  • Liaise with Subcontractors, Clients and Supply Chain Partners
  • Participate in meetings
  • Drive continuous improvement within stores, bringing new ideas in innovations and identifying opportunities to improve business processes. Implement change/transformation requirements that impact service delivery.
  • Monitor price increases in line with framework agreements
  • Profile stock, forecast requirements, set and monitor stock levels
  • Ensure stock is safely stored and circulated in a manner that is in line with water hygiene requirements, secure from damage, aging and theft
  • Ensure stores and yards at various locations are safe and tidy at all times
  • Check deliveries for accuracy, quality and compliance with specification
  • Allocate costs to correct contracts and work packages
  • Track slow moving products and identify obsolete stock
  • Reconcile goods received against purchase orders and invoices
  • Represent the company at all times in a professional and accomplished manner
  • Carry out reasonable instructions as required Head of Operations
Essential Requirements of the Stores Manager:

  • Strong IT skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills at management and operative level
  • A detailed knowledge of water works materials will benefit the candidate
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Able to create processes and produce reports
  • Highly self-motivated and a great motivator of others
  • Track record of exceeding business targets and KPI's
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems at an early stage
  • Accurate with good attention to detail
Although not essential it would be beneficial to hold a Folklift & Telehandler drivers' qualification along with a CSCS card and have prior knowledge of the water works material supply chain.
