Our Head Office located in Newcastle upon Tyne is looking to recruit a Business Reporting and Data Manager to work within the Finance Department. The Role The Business Reporting and Data Manager will have Main Objectives as listed below: Support the design, development and implementation of a commercial and a financial business intelligence and reporting strategy. Ensure business intelligence software, applications and tools are in place to deliver the business intelligence and reporting strategy. Design and implement a data replication programme which ensures quality and consistency of data transfer to the SQL data warehouse, as required to support the business intelligence and reporting strategy. Design and build reports that support the financial and commercial operations of the business. Define and implement processes to ensure quality, integrity and consistency of data within COINS and associated systems/software. Design and deliver a reporting and data training programme and associated training materials. The duties and responsibilities below reflect principal elements of the Business Reporting and Data Manager role and is therefore not exhaustive: Work with Group Finance and Group Commercial to support the design, development and implementation of a commercial and a financial business intelligence and reporting strategy. Work with Group Finance and Group Commercial to define operational requirements for financial and commercial reporting. Update and upgrade business intelligence software and applications, with initial focus on the implementation of MS Analytics. Deliver an operationally robust data replication programme ensuring quality, integrity and accuracy of data within COINS, associated systems/software and associated data warehouses. Build a suite of business intelligence reports and dashboards which deliver value to the business and fully utilises available software and applications. Develop appropriate test programmes and routines to validate the integrity of reports in terms of data accuracy and data quality and to provide assurance that reports are operating as required. Document and maintain data reporting processes and a catalogue of all reports and dashboards. Support the design and implementation of data structures required to deliver the business intelligence and reporting strategy. Define and implement processes, procedures and controls to manage and ensure quality and consistency of centralised data within COINS and associated systems/software. Provide training across the business to report users. Please note, our Head Office will be moving mid-summer 2020 to new offices at Woolsington, Newcastle upon Tyne (Newcastle Airport Business Park). Experience, Qualifications and Skills Experience 5+ years’ experience using business intelligence tools, developing dashboards and management reports Qualifications and Training Relevant degree qualification Expert knowledge of database schemas, SQL and business intelligence query tools Expert knowledge of business intelligence software and applications Expert knowledge of data extraction and analysis Experience of delivering business reports Working knowledge of MS Analytics Knowledge of COINS desirable, especially in a reporting capacity Skills and Aptitude Strong ability to analyse data tables and structures to establish knowledge of the data for accurate retrieval and use in report writing. Excellent communication skills to enable the translation of reporting requirements into written specifications and the delivery of robust and understandable reports and dashboards. Ability to quickly develop a good understanding of the reporting needs of the business. Customer focussed and able to build effective relationships throughout the business. Deadline focussed and willing to go the extra mile to ensure compromises are not taken in achieving deadlines. Methodical with a strong attention to detail and a passion for accuracy.
