If you are looking for your next strategic challenge, Kier Construction Southern are recruiting for a Pre-construction Director to join the region taking on full accountability of the pre-construction function for our offices in Maple Cross, Crawley and Southampton. Reporting into the MD you will:
  • Manage the pre-construction resources (people, finances and physical assets) and processes within the business unit.
  • Generate profitable tenders for authorisation and submission, and to maximise the order pipeline and its conversion into market share, revenue and operating profit within the business unit.
  • Design the solution(s), estimate the costs and plan the implementation of projects in order to meet or exceed customers' requirements.
  • Recognise contractual, financial, technical and operational risks and to find opportunities to minimise risk and maximise gross profit.
  • Support the fulfilment of the pipeline of contracts safely, on time, and to the required quality while maximising gross profit and customers' satisfaction.
  • Implement the Business Unit strategy and all of Kier Group's policies including those for SHE and risk management.
  • Promote Kier Group's values towards its customers in order to meet or exceed their expectations and fulfil the vision of becoming the most highly respected company in the industry.
The ideal candidate will need to:
  • Hold the relevant qualifications (Degree or equivalent)
  • Be chartered or Incorporated of a relevant institution.
  • Have experience of leading a sizeable team
  • Have experience and a proven track record of successful service/operational delivery and business operations
  • Be commercially aware
  • Be understanding of Compliance
  • Have experience within the construction industry
