There is an exciting opportunity to join Bellway, one of the UK’s largest house builders. Our Head Office located in Newcastle upon Tyne is looking to recruit an Apprentice Payroll Assistant. The Role Bellway’s Payroll team is a centralised Head Office based team managing and processing the payroll for the Group Head Office and 22 Divisions. The successful candidate will complete a Level 3 Payroll Administrator Apprenticeship. Principal accountabilities of the Apprentice Payroll Assistant role include: Calculate, input and reconcile divisional monthly payrolls including monitoring of sickness, statutory leave, starters and leavers. Process divisional monthly and/or weekly payroll. Prepare analysis of departmental wage costs for divisions. Answer payroll queries from divisions and employees. Reconciliation of payroll to accounts. Assist with monthly payroll tasks as required. Assist with administration of pension auto enrolment for monthly and weekly paid employees. Qualifications and Skills Qualifications Grade C / Level 4+ or above in both Math’s and English Level 2 Business Administration Apprenticeship is desirable. Desired Skills Desire to learn Excellent attention to detail Organised Friendly and helpful Flexible and able to prioritise a changing ‘to do list’. Trustworthy and reliable Self-motivated with a ‘can do’ approach Committed to diversity and inclusion Personal Qualities Articulate and a good communicator (both written and verbally) Proficient in using a computer (especially Word, Excel and Outlook) Ability to adapt to new IT systems Able to work in a team The Role and Working Conditions Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week Minimum of 15 month Apprenticeship £230 per week Willing to be flexible in respect to day to day duties Future Prospects Full time permanent position for the right candidate
